The K9 unit in Plano, Texas, tracked down two masked bank robbers who fled the crime scene on foot, broke into a residence near the bank, and held a couple and their two young grand-children hostage.
The two suspects toting guns were caught on camera inside the bank. When they tried to escape in their gold-colored sedan, the vehicle conked out a few feet beyond the bank’s parking lot. With no way to drive, they fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood and forced their way into a single family home.
The four occupants — a married couple and their two grand-children — were held hostage, but not for long.
The Plano K9 unit tracked the pair from the bank to the home. One of the criminals was taken into custody immediately. The second, who tried to run, was picked up moments later. Both are being charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
A resident of the neighborhood described the scene. “I just counted a lot of police cars and guns and dogs and camoflouge and helicopters. It was kind of strange,” said Michael Ramos.
