Steven Tubbs, 25
Arrested, September 6
Omaha, NE
Quick Facts

When he joined a friend in home invasion, Steven Tubbs was wearing an ankle bracelet with a GPS tracking device. That’s right, Tubbs was out on patrol for a May 2011 robbery, use of a deadly weapon, and terroristic threats. His ankle bracelet contained a GS detection system that could pinpoint his whereabouts at any given moment, including at the time he committed the crime. Tubbs is being held at the corrections center on a half million dollar bond. He was booked on charges of robbery, possession of a controlled substance, and bond review, police said.

The residents at the home said they were awakened by two intruders who demanded money. Police said credit cards taken from the home were being used shortly after the robbery.

Omaha police said Andrew Mason, 25, was booked on charges of robbery, use of a weapon to commit a felony, felon in possession of a firearm and a parole violation. He is being held on $250,000 bail.

  1. Okay, let’s ignore for a moment that both of these two look like the shutter click of the mugshot camera woke them up. The main question here is ‘when did a GPS-tracking ankle bracelet become acceptable bling-bling?’

    • Dear Apoc: Perhaps it’s a sign of the apocalypse. For sure, that’s what Mr. Tubbs is asking himself, as we speak.
